I believe that Senator Obama would truely show his patriotic, bipartisan nature by nominating John McCain for Secretary of Defense, when Sen. Obama wins the Presidential election. No one can argue that Sen. McCain is not qualified enough to effectively be the Sec. of Defense and this would give him a massive amount of support amonngst conservatives and Republicans alike, not to mention that this move would heal a gaping wound left from the polarly divided nation and highly competitive election.

This is the worst idea ever. John McCain would only continue the failed policies of George W. Bush. And why on Earth on would he nominate Mr. McCain after he spent millions of dollars in the campaign against him? I'm sure Mr. Obama will make the correct decision, which is anyone BUT Mr. McCain. And you say that "no one" can argue against McCain's qualifications? Maybe you should talk to the 52% of voters who cast their vote for Mr. Obama. Plus, "polarly" is not a word. If you can't use correct terminology, than how are we going to take your ideas seriously? The nation is not divided as you say. Mr. Obama made gains in 9 states that voted Republican in 2004. I would say that the nation is solidly behind Mr. Obama in his effort to bring about change.
Good Idea - Seriously

Well, whilst the idea might have been from "The West Wing", it doesn't mean it's not good. We just elected Barack with 53% of the vote. What better way to consolidate and leave the Republicans baffled than to actually include McCain in the Cabinet. Seize on what he said in his concession. It'd be a stroke of genius that'd send the right signal to the country and set President Obama on the path to a second term. So, no more sarcasm and partisanship about this - let's reach for bigger things.
