Obama has said he wants a Cabinet "Team," and also that millions of citizens now call themselves "Independents" since they have "rightfully" been turned off by the narrow politics of the two main parties. As or more important than naming Reps to Cabinet, Obama could explicitly reach out to these Independents. This massive voting pool can move to actually voting for a Democrat more easily than lifelong Reps. I'm sure Obama has a long list of talented and respected Independents he would be confident in working with.

Another excellent proposal. Anything to help erode the outdated/antiquated two-parties in perpetual conflict system will be a good thing. We need to hang loose like a long necked goose, for America.
