I recently got summoned for jury duty here in Chicago and was semi-complaining about the inconvenience of it. My mother said- I retire next year and would actually like the opportunity to volunteer to serve more for jury duty. Then I thought- there are lots of jobless people out there too right now. Is there some opportunity we could create for people to put in an honest day's work on jury duty, get a little $ something for it,and have "the system" benefit from this- all at the same time? The idea would have to be massaged, but it's an idea.
