Obama should come to Virginia Tech

Obama needs to come to Virginia Tech, or the surrounding area, to campaign. Southwest Virginia is the most Republican part of our swing state, and provides a very good opportunity for him to get votes. Much of the region follows the university very closely and is closely tied to it as well.

POVERTY MESSAGE

I really think a major tour with John Edwards addressing Poverty would be crucial. Show that Poor Black Folks and Poor White Folks have the same dreams and concerns. Jim Webb brought this up as well. This is a coalition that could be unstoppable if we can bring them together.

His major speech on race should be considered one of several. He is a thoughtful candidate who brings depth and nuance to his positions - there's plenty of time for sound-bites, but Obama should plan every three weeks to issue a major policy statement, which would reflect the detailed policy positions he's taken on his web site (that most aren't going to read).
