Find a succint response to this proposal coming from the Republicans. I think ultimately we will have to compromise and allow some drilling...so figure out what is "off limits" and what can be compromised and begin a public discussion. Conserve and hope is not an effective message right now and we will get hammered without a comprehensive, clear plan. This should be priority number one.

If there's one good thing about Obama & McCain being the nominees, it's that they are both reasonable people who believe in maintaining high ethics. In the spirit of running a campaign on the issues, the two candidates should meet and hash out what is and is not fair play in the general election. Perhaps they want to make the Keating scandal and Ayers off limits.
