The subtext of all the biography-flogging at the RNC is the belief that John McCain should be given the presidency as a reward for all he's done in his life, as if the presidency should be a grateful nation's way of saying thanks. The fact is, McCain wants to be president because he thinks he has it coming to him. To him (and the GOP at large) it's a matter of entitlement.

Republicans' Attitude is Insulting and Scary
George W. Bush is supposed to be the president of ALL Americans, not just Republicans. Him talking about the 'angry left' at the GOP convention was completely inappropriate. Our own PRESIDENT is disparaging citizens that don't agree with him in public. That is scary.

CNN is quoting Fred Thompson saying:
"Fellow citizens: If the Hanoi Hilton could not break John McCain's resolve to do what is best for his country, you can be sure the angry left never will," he said.

I have the sound down (cuz if not I'd be yelling at my TV a lot) but the reason I ask is this...I'm looking. I'm scrutinizing EVERY camera shot and you know what I see? White people. Lots and lots of white people. And ONLY white people. Some middle aged, many old, but I have yet to see a brown or black or yellow skinned face of any age in the crowd shots. Now, I'm white and there's nothing wrong with that -- but this is NOT what America looks like!!! Not in 2008!
