Read more »We're coming upon the final week of the campaign. This is the week to go full in full out to help get out the vote no matter what it takes. We haven't worked this hard to get swiftboated a third time in a row. Even if the polls tighten - if we get out the vote and work like there's no tomorrow -we can't loose. Remember the election is not ultimately about Obama - it's about us!!!

Read more »I'm watching Michael Moore on Larry King Live right now. He's doing the interview at a local bowling alley. He said they're "Bowlers for Obama" and that there are other groups (i.e. Hunters for Obama, etc.).
I think this is an awesome idea. Currently, I'm training for a marathon to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Why not have our own local groups to bring out voters?
For example:
We could appeal to all high school teachers and professors who are Obama supporters and ask them to hand out voter registration cards in their classrooms. The teachers/professors should not make any partisan comments when handing out the cards--just offer it as a convenience to the students. I know a professor who does this every election, and the students are very appreciative.
Read more »I heard once from a Democratic party organizer that the most effective way to get someone out to the polls is to ask them *in person* to vote, as a favor to you. Second best is to call them and ask the same thing. Phone-banking is prevalent for that reason. But what would have even more impact than making a phone call to someone you don't know and asking them to vote for Obama?

Read more »I live in NYC - a non swing area of a non swing state. I don't like to volunteer because I'm usually handing out fliers to voters headed to the polls to vote democratic anyway. The few who are undecided or republican are not really "worth" the "time cost".
Read more »Twitter had an immediate and dramatic effect on who attended which performances/sessions at the last South by Southwest festival. So let's engage every Obama supporter who has a Twitter account to use it to get out the vote. All you have to do is post an update to Twitter when you vote or do anything voting-related.
