Explain how Republicans made it possible for oil to skyrocket because of deregulation owing directly to the ENRON loophole. Republicans and Bush/McCain decided it would be best to let businesses police themselves instead of having federal oversight. This applies to oil, food safety, housing, financial markets, just about every sector of the economy that is hurting.

Phil Gramm's well documented contribution to the current housing crisis made a blip on the news several months ago but mysteriously faded before impacting public opinion.
