Recovery and the Military

Today (Dec. 6), President-Elect Obama announced part of his economic recovery plan intended to create 2.5 million new jobs. This is completely in alignment with his campaign promise to improve infrastructure and schools and reduce energy-dependence. Excellent work! But what about the military, which represents a huge chunk of government expenditure and energy consumption?

peace for israel and palestine

I think it would be great if we urged Israel to institute a mandatory requirement of 4 years of Arabic language study for highschool graduation.
Communication is key to peace and the Israelis are so geared toward education that this seems to be a very simple gesture of goodwill that they could make to the whole arab world.
