I believe that one of the main reasons Kerry lost the 2004 election was that he failed to emphasize how many supreme court justices were planning to retire within the next Presidential term. The same situation is happening again where two or three supreme court justices may be retiring during the next term. These are lifetime appointments on our nation's highest court.

I think Senator Obama needs to bring up the issue of supreme court justices. Several experts have stated that the next president could potentially name 3 supreme court justices during his time in office, thus shaping the political and legal landscape long after he is gone.
