Visit Native Americans waiting for assistance after Gustav

Send money and bring campaign volunteers to help native Americans who have been ignored by FEMA because the government wants their land for oil and gas companies.

They are the first Americans! They should receive assistance. Not only is it the right thing to do, it also shows up how things haven't changed that much since Katrina.

A picture's worth a thousand words

I would love to see a series of ads, each one consisting of photos only (no voice over) and a simple OBAMA/BIDEN speech quote or campaign promise at the end. Specific ideas follow ... read on.

1. Katrina: faces of black and white Americans who were victims of the storm, pictures of New Orleans 3 years later, pictures of politicians who swore to fix the situation, of FEMA trailers, etc.

Hurricane commercial

I am sure this has been suggested. I would show Bush and McCain on the tarmac with the Birthday cake the day Katrina made landfall, and next show McCain going to Mississippi and then Ohio to fill care packages. Then, a voiceover saying something like McCain non-election year over the first scene and McCain during election over the other scene.

A Public Works program for New Orleans...

My idea is to put the people of New Orleans to work, rebuilding New Orleans (and other areas of the Gulf Coast). New Orleans needs affordable public housing...but we can't just building soulless projects. The people of New Orleans need homes to call their own, places of pride and dignity. They also need a better Levee System. They need improvements to roads, Bridges and Tunnels.

Obama should spend time in New Orleans

To highlight the need in New Orleans and remind voters of the consequences of a lack of leadership in Washington, Obama should schedule a trip to New Orleans. He should take the opportunity to talk about the work the non-profits and religiously affiliated groups are doing there as well.
