With rumors that McCain may decide to turn the GOP convention into what will likely be a much needed campaign effort - Obama supporters must return the gesture.
- Perhaps the campaign locations in the SE can become command centers for the Red Cross?
- Become locations that are nationally publicized for where food, water, supplies can be shepped?
A Public Works program for New Orleans...
My idea is to put the people of New Orleans to work, rebuilding New Orleans (and other areas of the Gulf Coast). New Orleans needs affordable public housing...but we can't just building soulless projects. The people of New Orleans need homes to call their own, places of pride and dignity. They also need a better Levee System. They need improvements to roads, Bridges and Tunnels.

To highlight the need in New Orleans and remind voters of the consequences of a lack of leadership in Washington, Obama should schedule a trip to New Orleans. He should take the opportunity to talk about the work the non-profits and religiously affiliated groups are doing there as well.
