I’m in my thirties. I’m in it for the long term. The current stock market has me more worried about job prospects than the value of my stock portfolio. I’m confident that the market will rebound again and fall again and rebound again and so forth over the next thirty years.

IT SEEMS THAT THE PRESENT BAILOUT PLANS ARE JUST MORE TRICKLE DOWN ECONOMICS. WHY NOT GO THE OTHER WAY. I KNOW THIS IS NOT AN ORIGINAL IDEA BUT WHY NOT INVEST SOME OF THE TAX PAYERS MONEY BACK TO THE TAXPAYER. THEN LET THEM USE IT AS THEY SEE FIT.(SAVE, SPEND, PAY BILLS ETC) IN MY DAY, PAYING FOR THINGS IN CASH WAS A VIRTUE.

If you count all your taxpayers and give them $50,000 or $100,000 dollars each,some will put it in the bank, some will invest, some will buy cars, everyone will pay their bills and mortgages, it would be cheaper than the bailouts and you'll be giving the money back to whom it belongs to.Seems to me the economy would be back healthy right away.

I think the US should embark on a massive public works project building a national rail system to help restore the economy, create jobs, provide affordable, environmentally friendly transit for the masses, and reduce our dependency on foreign oil. Creating a manufacturing partnership with the auto industry to build the trains could also be Detroit’s salvation.

This is an excellent tool for communicating with your supporters and for supporters to submit ideas and/or scoops that might be of relevance to your new administration.
