Obama needs to go after McCain in the presidential debates, asking where the money will come from to continue funding the war in Iraq - especially if McCain intends to continue the Bush tax cuts. He needs to stress his own value of fiscal responsibility while exposing McCain's ineptitude on the issue, which McCain himself has said he doesn't understand very well.

Current polls always focus on the popular (national) vote, but this statistic is virtually meaningless in terms of the actual outcome.

Its critical that Obama make a forceful promise to balance the budget. We are in a sorry state of affairs fiscally speaking and I think there is a real risk that the "change" rhetoric could be construed as letting the government to overspend for new programs.
