Tell normal people *why* you need our money

I have a vague idea of where the Obama campaign feels like they're short on money (is it all advertising?), but people like me, who don't know much about the political machine, would be much more likely to give money if they knew what their money was going to do.

Obama's Accomplishments Ad

We need an ad that clearly shows the American people Obama's accomplishments because the Republican party is trying to convince everyone that he has done nothing. The ad should show the bills Obama supported and passed such as bills increasing transparency in government and working against nuclear proliferation, both of which included cooperation with Republicans.

Leverage Obama's Brain Trust

In the next 60 days, I would love to see the Obama campaign leverage those people he relies upon to be "advisors" speak up and enumerate the details and intent of some of his most important policies; specifically the economy, energy and healthcare.

Promise to Restore FOIA, Open Records of Former Presidents

McCain claims to support good government. Force him into a corner by promising to open up all Presidential records over 25 years old under FOIA. Bush signed an executive order limiting the Freedom of Information Act that was obviously designed to seal the records of Reagan and then-VP Bush.

Get the public involved in shaping the policy.

Obama is all about empowerment. He should find more ways to help the public participate both in implementing the solutions and in crafting them. Posting all bills on a website for public comment and broadcasting policy meetings is a start, but he should also find ways to give regular citizens a louder voice in the debate. Maybe a lottery for a seat at the table.

McCain and Transparency: I Don't Think So

John McCain's straight talk express spoke eloquently about the need for transparency in government. However, in January of 2007 a vote was taken in the Senate for Honest leadership and Open Government Act of 2007. This legislation would provide for greater transparency in the legislative process. Senator John McCain (R) Arizona voted NAY.

Make U.S. Government free from corporate power

It is an essential fact now that the U.S. Government has co-opted its power to the corporate elite. It is the elite (which includes their lobbyists) who control the flow of laws and information disseminated to the general public. It is also obvious that our news sources are controlled by the corporate elites thus rendering our news as mere tabloids and soundbytes.
