believe it or not, people will still vote based on abortion

I've heard too many people say they're going to vote republican - acknowledging Bush's failures - because they believe so strongly that abortion remains THE moral issue of our day. The ad Obama put out after the GOP convention only strengthened that (I didn't see it, but it seemed like he said he would protect women's rights in the ad).

Palin in office would be a step back for women, not a step forward

Palin claims that she is going to use Hillary's "18 million cracks" in the glass ceiling to get to the white house. As a woman, I am insulted.

Remember the Supremes

When Obama's giving his "more of the same" laundry list to argue that McCain will just continue Bush's policies--as he did in the interview with KO tonight--he should remember to say "more of the same kind of nominees to the Supreme Court." McCain has openly proclaimed this, yet for some reason Obama rarely mentions it. Yet, talk about energizing your base!

Women's Rights Being Trampled by Bush Administration!

Health and Human Services Secretary Michael Leavitt has proposed a new rule that will limit the rights of women to receive medically accurate information and treatment. The alleged goal of the rule is to protect the rights of health care workers, volunteers, and trainees. The result would be limited access to birth control and abortion for women all over the country - regardless of state law.

Hillary needs to get out there

We need to hear Hillary, in her own words, telling her supporters, as well as all men and women who support and care about women's rights and women's issues, that Palin stands against everything for which they've been fighting. Palin is not just Anti-Choice, she doesn't just want to overturn Roe v.

Republicans want to tell you how to live

Republicans want most people to believe they are for independence and small government, but they want to use the government to tell you who you can marry and what you can do with your body. We should highlight this fact. The republicans think you should make your own decisions, except when they think you're wrong.

What exactly does "Pro-Life" mean to the Republicans?

We need to be discussing WHY women feel that they must seek abortion. Poverty? No family support? Shame within a peer community (school, church, etc.)?

Applaud Bristol Palin for keeping the baby

This will help explain to the less educated that Pro choice does not mean that we want all babies aborted, but that we believe women should have a choice, and for the most part the perferable choice is to keep the baby.
