Here's an idea for a short commercial / web video.

While it's been said many times, now more then ever it's true. We need honesty from the future leaders of America.

Last night at Sarah Palin's VP nomination speech at the RNC we heard her say that Obama has "no plan for energy," a clear and blatant lie of course. This is the sort of baseless pandering that reminds us as Americans that our government and frequently our media do not hold our politicians accountable for their words.

In her speech last night Palin stated that although she knows that drilling won't solve all of our problems that isn't a good reason to doing so. It should be pointed out that while it will only be a "drop in the oil pan" in reducing our dependence on foreign oil it will come with significant costs to environmental health.

Nuclear energy may seem like a good alternative form of energy to some people, but what they dont realize is how closely it relates to our addiction to oil. The starting materials of nuclear power would MOSTLY come from other countries, just like how most of our oil comes from other countries(America does not have a significant supply of what is uranium).

States that support energy initiatives: that setup or allow the federal government to setup wind turbines, solar power, hydrogen power, clean coal, nuclear power, etc - that reduce their energy consumption by a certain factor, should be rewarded - and so should the people living in the state.
