Victory for America [Speech/Part 1]

This speech counter punches against Palin's accusation last night that Obama fails to say the word "victory"
by redefinig victory in a strong, positive way. I had to submit the speech in two parts because of the word-limit on posts.

Victory for America
[Part I]

John McCain and Sara Palin accuse me of failing to speak of victory in Iraq.

Clean Energy - State Initiatives

States that support energy initiatives: that setup or allow the federal government to setup wind turbines, solar power, hydrogen power, clean coal, nuclear power, etc - that reduce their energy consumption by a certain factor, should be rewarded - and so should the people living in the state.

Investing in Alge-Based Biofuels.

There are companies that can currently create oil from genetically-engineered strains of algae. This oil can not only be produced quickly, easily, and in mass quantities, it is also 100% clean burning. Here's a link to the most promising algae-fuel company.

Paint McCain as a Politician With a "Can't Do" Negative Attitude

We need to see some simple contrasts between Obama's "yes we can" theme, and McCain's "no we can't" theme. We should see some TV ads that paint a clear negative picture of McCain's "no we can't" attitude with a montage of clips of him saying "no."

Ad on Palin "standing up" to big oil

McCain's people seem to be touting that Sarah Palin is some kind of energy expert and that she stands up to big oil. This seems just silly considering that her state pulls in big revenues from big oil and that she's for drilling in ANWR. I mean, come on, it was speculated that oil prices would go down if she were chosen as the VP nominee (but Gustav put a momentary stop on that).

Audacious Goal, like "Man on The Moon"

Take a page from Kennedy's inspiring and historic push to put a man on the moon. Instead of cutting dependence on just FOREIGN oil, cut dependence on OIL period, 100% in 10 years. Increase funding to alternative energy research, increase funding to schools teaching science, give tax breaks to develop more efficient technologies, create jobs, set aside land for solar power plants and wind farms.

Obama supporters across America should transform their gardens and spare yard space into small Victory Gardens. Put up a sign explaining why you and your family are taking this positive action, in support of Change. Growing food locally is good for the community, good for our health, good for energy independence, good for the environment.

Energy Independent America

The Iraq War is estimated to cost eventually $3 trillion. Announce a "trip to the moon" vision for energy that by 2020 the USA will be essentially energy-independent thru supporting a combination of tax incentives, government investments, new oil explorations, alternative energy pushes, etc. to the tune of $3 trillion. Real security for America, destroying the funding for Middle East terrorism.
