Read more »The lobbyists that surround McCain are a testament to the way the man will run his office. But people just don't "get" lobbyists and don't really understand what they do. We should have a commercial that does a quick 15 second exposé on a few and show what their résumé looks like.

1. He needs to call McCain a "liar" and nothing less.
2. He should not try to pretend that they are friends.
3. Keep the debates based on issues and only deal with the facts.
4. Stress the idea that McCain's campaign is run by lobbyists and they will bring "lobbyist-led change" not "citizen-led change."
McCain says he wants to end earmarks, but his campaign is being run by lobbyists whose job it is to pursue earmarks and favors for their client. And, as another submitter pointed out here, he has criticized his own choice for VP, Sarah Palin, for her support of earmarks! We need to effectively and forcefully either or discredit or neutralize this image - because it plays in the minds of millions of swing voters as a rationale to vote for McCain.

Read more »Don't let the GOP frame the debate to describe Palin as a reformer. I watched some of the RNC tonight (Tuesday) and all they drilled on was she was a reformer. Even when confronted with non-reforming facts by Andrea Mitchell they ignored her and repeated the talking points. Hit her hard with the fact she was *FOR* the bridge to nowhere before she was against it.
