There should be official, non-biased fact checkers at each of the Presidential and VP debates this fall. The Obama campaign should propose this plan. With all of the lies that have been spread by the GOP advertisements, it would be great to have fact checkers at the actual debates, that could make comments whenever necessary to clear the record.

It's obvious by now that John McCain intends to lie his way into the White House. It's understandable -- it's the only way he can possibly win. But what separates McCain campaign lies from your garden variety lie is their sheer brazenness. They lie about everything, even stuff they don't need to lie about. They get called out on their lies, and yet they tell the same lies again and again.

One of Obama's change themes has been that we need to change how politics is done. Without being angry, they need to clearly and unashamedly point out the the Republican campaign is fundamentally dishonest, and that Republican campaigning and their mode of government is one that embraces dishonesty as a tool for achieving their ends. From Iraq to the "bridge to nowhere".

Do I need to say more? No, but I will. The Republicans have succeeded in working over the main stream media so well that the Republicans can call the sky green, and end up making the main stream media not only too afraid to challenge it, but they will end up also bleating out the RNC line that the Dems were bringing sleaze into the campaign by attacking the eyesight of regular Americans.
