Read more »Take a play from the Karl Rove handbook and redefine the word "maverick". Instead of focusing on how McCain is not a maverick, re-associate the word with less than maverick-y people and issues or excessively maverick-y ones. One maverick that comes to mind is Michael Moore. Another in the current political scene is Vladimir Putin. Another of course...George W Bush.
