Fireside Chats

Obama should start something akin to FDR's fireside chats. Perhaps he could post videos on youtube of him talking to the American people, or use the radio the same way that FDR did, although the radio is a little outdated. But with the radio he might be able to better reach the older generation who are not all that youtube savvy.

CHECK THIS OUT...NOT FAILED POLICIES

Create an ad that says "The Bush-McCain policies are not failed policies - they are policies that did exactly what they were designed to do - and that is to push big oil to record profits and to give tax cuts to the rich while the middle class continues to suffer. These are not failed policies, heck, even John McCain says the fundamentals of the economy are strong."

Hillary Clinton: "No Way, No How, No McCain-Palin" IN FRONT OF CAMERAS

Hillary Clinton is such a powerful figure in today's political environment. Her supporters need to hear the statement she released in her own voice. They need to see her say it in her newest pantsuit. There is no reason that anyone who supported Hillary based on her policies should support Palin-McCain.

Get Hillary to say NO to Palin

Hillary Clinton has said time and again that she will do anything it takes to elect Obama. One thing she can do is head off the obvious pandering by the McCain camp and publicly oppose Palin. This has to be purely an issue based statement. She needs to make it very clear to all her 18 million supporters that the only thing that she and Palin have in common is their gender.

Don't Let the Election become about Palin

The McCain campaign will do anything to take attention away from McCain. We've seen it in their negative ads and now in their choice for VP. Don't let them get away with it. Don't stoop to running a campaign against Palin...she's not running for president. The VP pick has never made a significant impact on a campaign for more than a week or so. Don't let this be any different.

'Bush Is Not on the Ballot this November' Stump Message

I've heard Senator Obama's speeches in both S. Dakota and Michigan yesterday and today. One of the things he's said, I'm paraphrasing here, that when we go into the voting booth in November we know that George Bush's name will not be on the ballot. But his policies will.

Senator Obama needs to strengthen this extremely important message.

Something to the effect as this....

Give "fireside chat" about one specific issue, every two weeks

Talk about one REAL issue in the campaign and how you would deal with it as President. You can familiarize people with your policies and give some details. It should be shot "close up" and be like an intimate chat with Obama. You could reach out to specific demographics with certain issues. The press will eat it up and wait for it every week.
