Hire Drew Westen to write Obama's speeches

Author of The Political Brain, Westen was interviewed last night on PBS's NOW by David Brancaccio. In a 15-minute interview, he tells Obama how to merge the truth about issues with language that speaks to the heart. Stop already with the nuance!

The only message we should send..

Barak Obamas strength lies his unconventional approach of politics, this is what has made this whole movement possible, this is what has brought us that far. I would like to see Obama going back to his roots and become once more the unconventional, energetic reformer/rebel/speaker who intoxicates the masses with his charisma and commitment to bring change to the people.

Re-Release Republican Speeches With "Truth Bubbles"

I would love to see tonight's RNC speeches by Guiliani and Palin attacking Obama re-released in a "Pop Up Video" format, with "truth bubbles" under each lie or misconception that one of their speakers said. When Sarah Palin talks about Obama raising taxes, there should have been a pop-up bubble saying that he plans to LOWER taxes for 98% of the population.

Talk about oil companies other than ExxonMobil

Because seriously... if you focus on one employer, you're alienating their employees. Plus, ExxonMobil isn't making a larger profit per gallon, they just have a larger total profit because of how many gas stations they have. My mom's a Democrat, and works for ExxonMobil - and she supports Obama, but she swears up and down when she keeps hearing unfair comments come from the campaign.

Try to use the word "Change" more sparlingly

Seriously, I wasn't an Obama supporter in the primary, and hearing "change" was like hearing nails on a chalkboard. I know we need change; most people in this country know. We get it. Leave change on the signs, and say change in your speeches.

Let Obama campaign for himself--door to door

Have door-to-door volunteers bring clips of Obama's speeches to show potential voters (either via ipod or laptop) in addition to having those volunteers be able to talk about the specifics of what Obama plans to do as president and how he plans to do it.

It's the economy!

I would like to see Obama concentrate on giving details about how he would improve the economy the day he takes office. What I remember most vividly from Bill Clinton's first presidential campaign is his direct, honest and detailed speeches about his tax plan and his plans to create more jobs for the working class.

When you're giving a victory speech, or any speech for that matter...

and you're being broadcast live on CNN, MSNBC, and the entire country is watching, don't take the first 45 seconds to thank the organizers of the event. I think a much more powerful, stronger opening address could be more helpful rather than reading a few random names off of a notecard and then getting to the actual speech.
