McCain reversed himself on torture a couple of months ago when he answered a reporter's question about waterboarding. The reporter asked if he would stop the use of waterboarding if he was elected president. McCain's answer was that he would not rule out any specific tactic for interrogation. This is exactly the same answer that Bush has given for years now.

Explain what these issues could mean to everyday people - most people I know don't realize they can now be spied on, arrested, held without charges and tortured if the government 'believes' they are a terrorist or associated with a terrorist organization, as they define it.
